That’s a wrap

Black-and-white dog holding a yellow balloon in its mouth on a red patterned rug. It’s been a lumpy old year. At the start I lost my dog and my Mum within months of each other. Somewhere in the middle I took my grief to Japan and promptly lost my mind – in a good way. My alter-ego Kutisar spent the year guiding lost souls up and down both islands. And now I’ve popped out the far side of 2025 with a new dog
(who’s lost an eye) and a new play.

If you didn’t catch the development season of Balloon Dog, you’re not alone. The one-week run sold out in minutes – and judging by the response, future seasons will do the same. Good thing we’ve got more planned for 2026. I’m looking at you Hamilton, Tauranga, Whangārei, Auckland, Sydney and Wollongong! And in anticipation of grumpy emails from places on the map we won’t quite make it
to next year – all I can say is, if Balloon Dog is this good now, it’s going to be frickin’ amazing when it reaches your shores.

And, finally, in the spirit of Christmas miracles… we’re starting work on the next show. No title, no setting, no idea what it’s about but we know we have to start. Luckily, I’ve had plenty of practice being lost.

Miss you Mum.
