This music month, we hear from composer/musician David Ward as Balloon Dog shifts from rehearsal rooms to theatres, and Dave mixes music “keys” with car keys!

“After patiently drilling into the detail in rehearsals, this month we had the chance to take the show on the road. This is where things really come alive, when we can plug our work into real life humans. Night by night we get to play the subtle dance between each other and the audience, and to intuitively feel the soul of the show.

It has been a real joy travelling with long time friends such as Jacob and Justin and to have a chance to properly connect with the new cast members Alisha and Jehangir. One thing that is a little jarring to my brain is the realisation that I am now so much older! I was doing my first Indian ink tour 22 years and 9 shows ago, so whether I like it or not, I think I need to graciously accept that I am officially an elder veteran to the new class of Indian Inkers!”
