Never Better November - Indian Ink Theatre Company

Never Better November

Keeping up with Jake in NovemberDozen people in a kitchen selfie making playful scary faces around a table with pots and bowls.

Butterfly House is the stunning holiday home of Indian Ink Patron and former Board member, Christine Fernyhough. Chrissie is whip-smart, hilarious, and an unstoppable force of nature with a phenomenal eye for design.

Her bach is overflowing with beautifully curated mid-century furniture and Kiwiana, sparking joy and recognition at every turn. Every year, Chrissie generously gives Indian Ink free reign to bring our Next Genners to Butterfly House for a weekend retreat.

Mornings begin with 8am yoga on the deck led by GM Jude (no wonder our budgets are so balanced!), followed by Justin’s drama workshop on the back lawn – can’t compete with the views of Managwhai Heads out the front.

After lunch, I lead sessions where little pieces of theatre come to life in various rooms. In the evening, we cook, eat, talk, and laugh, feeling the house embrace it all. It’s been a weekend of inspiration and collaboration. We leave rejuvenated and ready to create.

This incredible home has become a chrysalis for our butterflies. Thank you, Chrissie!
