Keeping up with Jake in September

My emotions are like Wellington buses – not altogether reliable. I’ve been waiting for sadness to arrive after the final season of Krishnan’s Dairy. I’m still waiting.

Maybe the sheer relief of completing the tour without any COVID cancellations replaced the anticipated sorrow. Maybe I got the closure I needed from the love expressed by all the friends and strangers telling me how much the play had meant to them.

Who knows, maybe I’ll break down in tears in front of some poor, unsuspecting dairy owner while attempting to buy a newspaper and some milk a year down the track?

Regardless, thank you to everyone who came to Krishnan’s Dairy over its remarkable 25-year run. If you didn’t get to see it – I guess you’ve missed the bus.
